Why Mom Clock needs permissions on Android

On iPhone, alarms and app blocking are handled by a few built-in system features. Android works differently: ringing on time, showing an alarm on a locked screen, detecting which app is open, and running in the background are each controlled by a separate system permission. That's why Mom Clock asks for several of them.

You only need to turn on the permissions for the features you use.

What each group of permissions is for

  • Alarm: Lets your Promise alarms and reminders go off on time, even when your phone is locked. See Alarm.
  • Screen Time and App Blocking: Lets Mom Clock show your app usage, block the apps you choose, and keep blocking running in the background. See Blocking apps.

Manage permissions

  1. Go to Me → Settings → Permissions.
  2. Tap any permission that isn't turned on yet and follow the prompts.

You can come back to this page anytime to check which permissions are on.

Is my data safe?

Mom Clock uses these permissions only for your alarms, reminders, app usage, and app blocking.

Network access is used to fetch available plans, verify your subscription, send messages from Me → Guide → Contact, and collect anonymous usage statistics. See Why does the app need network access?
